Prayer of God’s People
Gracious Lord, we come to worship after a long week of work, chores, and responsibilities that are necessary to sustain our livelihood but at the same time, we pray have been the reason you have called us into being. We pray that the work that we have done this past few days has proclaimed your glory and given you praise.
Here in this community of disciples known as the church, we become once again nourished by the fellowship of others whom you have also called to serve. Here in this community, the Spirit transforms us so that all the dying parts of our lives will once again receive life and renewal. Here in this community of disciples known as the church, we become once again commissioned by you, O God to go out into the world to proclaim Good News where only bad news are found.
As the beloved community, we pray for healing for those who are suffering from ill- health and tired bodies. We pray for Tom Wong at this very critical time of his life, grant him mercy and the grace of living well. Strengthen and encourage Maureen as she cares for Tom and receives the support that she needs. Continue to watch over Nico Tom and his parents Eunice and Ken Tom as they provide the tender and loving care that Nico needs today.
Remind us that we are your witnesses in this world when we become living stones built and cemented together with Jesus as the Cornerstone. Together, we serve the Lord and are able to accomplish even greater things in Jesus’ name because like him, we too are connected to God, our Father. Bless this time that we have in worship and may we pray for one another to God as Jesus himself taught us, saying, “Our Father…”
Benediction
May you be living stones with Jesus as our Cornerstone.
May the Lord bless you as we go out to do even greater things in the name of Christ who is with us through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
