Prayer of God’s People

God of our salvation, we thank and praise you this day for your mighty acts of deliverance. The scriptures reveal you as the God who brings salvation. In the Bible we learn of Noah and how you saved your creation from destruction and provided a new beginning. You selected Moses to lead your people out of slavery, and you delivered them out of the waters into a land you had promised. In the resurrection of Jesus Christ you delivered us from the power of death. Even now, when we see signs of new life and a new beginning, we know we are witnessing you at work through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today, we thank you for delivering Nellie Hee out of her illness to be able to return to her home and to be with her loving family. We pray Lord that you will be with Henry Ng’s mother and Laura Dare’s father as they recuperate from their suffering. Deliver them, Lord to good health. We lift up for your mercy, Dan Lee’s brother who are battling cancer; grant him your love and comfort.

We thank you for the forgiveness of sins and the promise that death will not hold eternal power over us. We praise you for those moments of deliverance when we realize the dangers we were spared from, and we look to the day when our salvation is fully realized and we are ushered into our heavenly home. Through Christ our Lord who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”

Benediction

Let us remember that in Christ, there is a new beginning!

Lead a life worthy of your calling,

Bearing one another in love.

Maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,

Guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Go in peace.

The Lord’s Supper

Jesus is the kairos moment that fulfils the ultimate liberation of all of God’s people from the slavery of sin and death. Every time we break the bread and drink the cup of the Lord’s Supper, it is a kairos moment. What took place over 2000 years ago still has meaning for us today because it’s God’s presence interrupting our chronos time.
