Prayer of God’s People

Dwell among us, Savior revealed in the saints, Creator present in our lives, and Sustainer moving as you will. Lead us into prayer so that we may distill from the noise of our day, your guiding voice to calm our anxieties and settle our fears.

We give you thanks for our brothers and sisters beloved by you and deeply appreciated by all of us. You have called us for a purpose to proclaim the good news so that all may obtain the glory of Jesus Christ. With your aid, O God, we will stand firm and hold fast to the traditions which have come down to us—through the Word of Jesus our Lord. Thank you, Lord for this opportunity to participate in your kingdom work when we pledge to the ongoing work of this church in 2014. As we commit ourselves to walk in the light of Christ, we would also have the light of life.

Today, we pray for the loved ones near and far who are in need of your grace and healing miracles. Through our prayer for wholeness, we have the hope for results that are beyond our own human understanding but never beyond your mighty powers. We pray for Tom Wong as he received cancer treatment; for Walter Tom to continue improvement and mobility, and for Debbie Chin who is recovering from strokes this past week. Grant them mercy and the encouragement that all things will be well according to your will.

And we seek for your forgiveness of us and pray for those who venerate the past but take no notice of what is happening in the present, for those who are satisfied with what is being done but constantly compare it to what has been done. We pray for those who only honor the future, what they think will be done, not what has been done and what has been passed down to us. And we pray for those who seem to only know the present, who look neither forward and back. For all of these we pray that we all come to comprehend your purpose and presence in the communion of saints—the body of Christ, past, present, and future, one body serving one God. All these things we pray in the name of Christ Jesus who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”

Benediction

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Creator,

who loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope,
