*Thanksgiving Luncheon/Seniors Appreciation, Nov. 20, 3 weeks away; lunch tickets are available for purchase today

*All-Church Fall Clean-up, Sat., Nov. 19; invite all of you to come and prepare our church home for the holidays; each fellowship should send at least 2 people

Prayer Concerns

Over the past two weeks, our church family has been overwhelmed by sad news and serious concerns. I would like to take this time to share them with you so that as a beloved community of sisters and brothers that we would pray and lift up one another’s spirits and faith in God.

1. Rev. Eugene Wright, Pastor Emeritus at FBC, Fresno passed on Oct. 17; Rev. Wright was interim minister with us before I came in 1998; his wife Jeanette has Alzheimer’s

2. Katharine Lee’s father passed from a heart attack on Oct. 19, Funeral will be next Sunday, Nov. 6, 12:00-1:30, Evergreen, McAvoy, 4545 Geary Blvd, followed by a memorial meal at Tong Palace, 2:00, 933 Clement St.

3. Ed Chan suddenly passed on Thursday, Oct. 27 from complications from a heart condition, 81; pray for his wife, Ruth and Ed’s three daughters, Sue, Barbara, and Beverly and their families; services are: Sunset View Cemetery, 101 Colusa Ave., El Cerrito, 94530; Friends are invited to bring photos and memories to share; memorial lunch afterward

4. Betty Quey, wife of Peter Quey, former member of our church passed on Oct. 24 in her sleep after failing health; members at Community Baptist in San Mateo

5. Eric Lum, long time friend of John Tom and others who met back in 1973 when CONFAB was in Hawaii; he was 60 from lung cancer

6. James Wong is in the hospital with some discomfort around his stomach area and is undergoing testing to find the cause; appendix related

7. Mrs. K.C. Mae Lee is in hospice care at this time with Alzheimer’s; pray for Vera, Victor and Mike Wong at this time

Inasmuch as we have concerns, we also have celebrations:

1. Kenneth Tom and Eunice Chung were married yesterday

2. Joe Au and Letitia Eng were also married yesterday

3. Laurie and Dale Kim are new parents to Melody Sue Kim on Oct. 21; Best wishes to Helen and Daniel Woo as grandparents

4. Jamie and David Lee are new parents to Abigail Grey Lee on Oct. 24; Best wishes to Lea and Nelson Wong and Dan and Diana Lee as grandparents

Benediction

Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful; go on your way.

Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals and give peace where you go.

Stay where you are and cure the sick who are there.”

The Lord is calling you as laborers and disciples because the harvest is plentiful

It’s harvest time!
