Prayer of God’s People

Dear God, we thank you for sending us Jesus who teaches us not only to pray, but how to live and how to die, secure in the faith that God’s love envelops us at all times. We thank you for the six weeks of Day Camp that brought over 100 children from our community to know Christ and to be introduced to the love and care that this beloved community offers to its neighbors. We pray for this year’s Youth Camp that is about to take place in just a week. Be with the directors and counselors as they make final preparations for another week of life-changing experiences of learning, worship, activities, and decision-making. We pray for the Summer Retreat that is happening this weekend for our Cantonese-speaking members and friends. May this time deepen their walk with Christ as their Lord and Savior. We pray for the life and vitality of our church as it envisions new ministries and expand our outreach to those who are eager to hear good news. Be present when church leaders gather on Monday night to hear each other’s concerns and to build up the Body of Christ as you have called us to be.

From the love of Christ that joins Christians all over the world, we are blessed to have our new Baptist friends from Norway worship with us this morning. We pray for their faithful witness as they travel to the Baptist World Alliance assembly in Hawaii to praise God through their music and deeds.

At all times of life, we acknowledge your presence in our lives. We thank you for blessing us with the life of Walter Jeung as he returns to you after living a life of faithfulness. We thank you for the gift of new life in the precious life of Naomi Hannah Chin as her parents make their promises public to raise her in a Christian home so that when that day comes when she is able to profess her belief in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior that she will do that. We pray for those who are suffering and are in need of your mercy and grace…

Finally, O God, we pray for the world in which you have created and entrusted in us to become good stewards and sisters and brothers on earth. We pray for those who are tested, in countries that are hostile to our faith; in hospitals and homes where illness and pain threaten the faith of the afflicted, in places of power at our places of business and in the seats of government where temptations beset us. Forgive us when we have fallen short of being your disciples in the world today. Help us to be more fruitful disciples, ever trusting you and your Son Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray and who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”

Offertory

God has freely given to us, let us freely return a portion of God’s abundance.

Dear Lord, as you have so richly blessed us, please bless these gifts that they might strengthen the ministry of our church and touch the lives of many people. Amen.

Benediction

Do not hesitate to search and ask.

God will answer you and give you what is good.

Doors will be opened and good gifts will be received.
