Prayer of God’s People

Loving God, we come with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength to worship you today. Make us strong with all the strength that comes from your glorious power. Make us strong, not to oppress others, not to triumph over your beloved people around the world, but to prepare us to endure everything with patience while joyfully giving thanks to you.

Our fragile lives are at the mercy of this world and the grace received from you. We pray for Laura Dare’s father as he struggles with regaining good health; be merciful on him and hold Laura and her family in your embrace. Continue to bless Judith and James Wong as they recover from their surgery and injury and protect them from all harm and danger. Bless us all with the power of healing and restoration from accidents and challenges that growing older entails in order for us to remain faithful and dedicated to the work of your Kingdom on earth.

We pray for the life-changing ministries of this sacrificing church that has made a difference to so many. Continue to watch over Day Camp and particularly the children as they complete their 5 weeks of Bible study and life skills this week. We seek your presence and guidance as the Long-range Planning Committee convenes for the first time this Saturday to begin their important work under the leadership of Nelson Wong and the Search Committee as they interview a possible candidate to call another servant to bring Good News of Jesus Christ in the world. Lord, continue opening up new doors for us to enter into your mighty work in this suffering world.

Rescue us from the power of darkness, that we might live, recognizing your reign over history in which we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. All glory and honor be yours in the name of Jesus Christ who taught us to pray together,  “Our Father…”

Benediction

We are all neighbors.

Learn from the story of the Good Samaritan.

Go and do likewise.

Live joyfully and well, to God’s glory.

Amen.
