Prayer of God’s People
Dear Lord, we thank you for gathering us in worship today. For this opportunity to come to worship in the name of Christ Jesus is a blessing to our daily living, to our community as your church and to give witness of your love and grace in the world.
In the beginning of the New Year, we continue to look for signs of economic recovery so that people would be able to find life-giving employment and the fulfillment of using their gifts and talents in service to Christ. We pray for peace and justice and the end of violence in our neighborhoods and nations around the world that prevent people from having security and a hopeful future. We pray for personal healing of broken bodies and poor health, family relationships under stress, and one’s own identity that is saddled with doubt and uncertainties. Lord, make us whole and lead us to trust our lives in your hands according to your will for us.
We pray for the vitality and the ongoing witnesses of our sister churches, Sunset Ministry and 21st Avenue as we support them to remain in ministry in San Francisco. We lift up those who are in need for a special prayer of mercy: Tom Wong, . We give you thanksgiving for how Bill Chin is getting stronger and healthier each day and will return to serve you at this church soon. And as a caring and nurturing community of disciples, we affirm our responsibilities to raise up the children of this church to be followers of Jesus such as Rebekah Dawn Yow.
Hear our prayers, O Lord, and lead us to pray together, “Our Father…”
Benediction
You are the lights of Christ!
Jesus invites us to “Come and see.”
Go in peace and invite others to come and see!
Amen.
