*Richard Chen passed last Sunday, Feb. 5; Services at Green Street Mortuary, Friday, Feb. 24, 7:00; Funeral, 10:00 followed by committal and memorial meal
Prayer of God’s People
Gracious Lord, we come to you with a desire to know you more than we know you before we came this morning. Open our hearts and minds to your dwelling Spirit in the world that is constantly calling your children to know the love of Christ. We pray that in our worship this morning that we hear your words for us so that they will direct our lives according to your will for us and the world. Lead us to follow you on a journey of righteousness and faithfulness that will bring peace and wholeness in your creation.
We lift up the vibrant ministries of this church that remain obedient to your call to be the hands and feet of Christ in San Francisco Chinatown. We pray for the ongoing programs and ministries that we do that lead people to make a personal decision of accepting Jesus
Christ as their Lord and Savior. We pray for the Search Committee that will be looking at additional candidates for our Associate Pastor position to trust in your plans for our church. Bless those who have applied and guide the committee on their important responsibility of discerning your time and plan for a humble and dedicated servant to shepherd our people.
In the midst of loss and grief, we also celebrate long life and blessings. Uphold the family of Richard Chen as they make plans to celebrate his 100 years of fruitful and purposeful life. We give thanks to you, Lord for watching every step of life that we take and granting us the joy of family and friends and the mercy of forgiveness when we may have caused wrong to others. We pray for those who are in need of hope in despair, joy in sorrow and a miracle when we have no more answers available. Be with…
Hear our prayer, dear Lord and challenge us to reach out to those in need of hearing good news by whatever we might do to win over some. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ who did everything for us so that we would not need anything that this world could provide and who taught us to pray, “Our Father…”
Benediction
Go with the knowledge that we are worthy because of Christ.
Share the valuable and life-changing ministries that we do
so that all would know God.
