Prayer of God’s People
Gracious Lord God, we thank you for this beautiful day when we can enjoy the wonderful creation in the world. We see the bright blue sky and can imagine the celestial wonders beyond what we can see. We feel the warmth of the sun and thank you for the energy that makes plants grow to provide trees for the birds and food for our bodies. We are grateful for the land on which we live and pray that we your human creations will work toward peace and fellowship with all people near and far.
For those in our community of faith who are in need of your mercy and grace, we pray for healing powers to return these loved ones to full health. We pray for strength for Ken Jay to return to his faithful service to you. We lift up Bill Jang that his anticipated procedures will be successful in order for him to be well again. We pray for Eugene Louis to be healed from his recent heart condition. For all those whom we know and who are in need of your grace, we pray that they will feel a closer to you and know that you are their God.
Thank you, Lord for gathering all of us together in this one place when we can celebrate the love that we have for one another in Christ. Unify us as your family dedicated to making your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ known in the world. We also thank you for the abundance of blessings including the wonderful food when we have at the barbecue picnic lunch later this morning. And when we forget to share our gratefulness for your love, we seek your forgiveness and pray to give you alone honor and praise.
All of these things, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”
Benediction
May the Lord bless you and watch over you at today’s picnic.
May the Lord make his face shine on you as we grow in faith.
And may the Lord lift up the heavens and give us his peace today and evermore.
Amen.
