Prayer of God’s People
Living God, we pray that you would expand our view of each other and of the world. With you present, we may no longer look at each other as we did before. Here, with you, we are in the company of the saints, becoming what we are in your eyes—children of God, one family in one faith around the world.
As your people, open our eyes to the wonderful work you are doing in the world. We pray for the preparation of sending another work team to Northern Thailand as we partner with ABC missionaries and the local village leaders. In our desire to help others, we pray, Lord that we also will receive many blessings in return. We thank you for how you have led so many Kachin people along with many others from Asia and from the four farthest corners of the world to find refuge and new beginnings in the US. Teach us to welcome our new neighbors with open arms and open hearts. And as you have placed missions at our doorsteps, we praise you for the life-changing ministries like Day Camp and the capable leaders like Rachel Jensen and Melanie Ng who along with other leaders taught children about the love of God in Christ Jesus. May we, Lord continue to respond to your calling that the harvest is full and that we may become more workers to harvest the fruits.
Merciful God, we pray for those who are in burdened with the weight of pain and sorrow, seen and unseen, for the economic and cultural factors that drive families apart or bring destructive behaviors together, for the problems which seem insoluble, for the tensions that tear at the fabric of our living, for the mirror that is held up to sin instead of salvation as the pattern of our existence, we pray for forgiveness.
Turn us all around and change our evil ways so that we may become one family, in you, in love, in purpose, in reality to the truth that Jesus Christ saves and in whose name we pray together…”Our Father…”
Benediction
Christ, a fragrant and sacrifice to God,
Loved us and gave himself up for us.
Be imitators of God by practicing your faith
10,000 times because it would make you better.
As beloved children,
Live in love and hope. Amen.
