Prayer of God’s People

Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, your glory is seen and felt in so many ways. Living and working in this beautiful San Francisco Bay Area, we can see the majestic mountains, the placid Pacific Ocean, the stunning sunsets and the bustling active life of the city by the Bay. We give you thanks and praise that you are revealed as well in the mirror of our lives, the treasure of our relationships, the tapestry of our days.

In the aftermath of another horrific natural disaster in Oklahoma this past week, we pray for the victims and the thousands of families who have lost loved ones, the roof over their heads, the bed that they receive rest after a long day, and the dash hopes of plans and dreams. We pray that your comfort would grant hope and encouragement in the days ahead for those who lost loved ones and the rebuilding of damaged lives. Instill compassion in our hearts as we prayerfully give to the One Great Hour of Sharing to help in these trying times.

As the Thailand Mission Team completes their final plans before departing in mid-June, we pray for their commitment to do your work among the people in Northern Thailand. Grant us the excitement for them as we support them with our prayers and funds. We look forward to having these 18 people become our eyes and ears to understand the need for healthy village economies and to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ through the team’s actions and words.

Today, we lift up for your mercy and healing those in our midst who are sick and hurting. Be with…

Dear God, Spirit of Truth, transform our hearts that we may see truth today. May we become one as you are one, celebrating in that oneness our diversity that you model in your self-revelation. Turn us from destructive ways and back to the love you have given us. This we pray, Trinity of Truth, in the name of Jesus Christ who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”

Benediction

The love of God has been poured into our hearts.

The gift of Jesus Christ has saved us.

The Spirit of Truth promises to guide us.

How majestic is God’s name in all the earth!

Amen.
