Prayer Concerns

Prayer of God’s People

Sanctify us in your truth, Holy God. Protect us in your name, so that we may be one, as You are Three in One. Bless us in this time of prayer, and fill us with the joy of your presence.

As your faithful disciples at this church, we pray that you would grant to us the power of the coming of the Holy Spirit as the Spirit came to the disciples on that first Pentecost. Teach us to be patient and focused on your plan for us rather than on how we think things should be. Show us that your time is often very different from our time and that to be faithful, we would need to wait upon you. Grant us clear eyes and open hearts to welcome and embrace all your people to become vital and important members of this beloved community in order to accomplish your mission in San Francisco and to the ends of the earth. We pray that the Live in Harmony event next Sunday will celebrate the “tongues of fire” that we are so blessed with at this church.

We are in the world, but we are not of the world. Therefore, as Jesus prayed for us, so we pray directly to you to watch over us. There are those who feel threatened by the good news that you give in Jesus Christ—help them to receive your grace. There are those who have been hurt or who are not ready to hear—help them to be healed in your love. There are those who are suffering from illness and troubled minds—help them to recover and become whole once again. Grant us your wisdom that your word may be shared through the words and deeds expressed in our daily life.

Lord, when we think that our imagined importance is critical to your will, we pray that you will forgive us with your saving grace. When our actions or words have impeded others from coming to know you, we pray that despite our failings, your power and your mercy will be revealed to all who need you. Let your glory be made visible to all. Let your love be felt by all. This we pray, grateful for your forgiveness, resolute in our faith in the name of Jesus the Christ who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”

Benediction

Go forth with courage and faith that Jesus has come to save.

Trust in the Lord.

Proclaim his truth.

Share with the conviction that we wait on the Lord.
