Prayer Concerns

Prayer of God’s People

O God, our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, we praise you for the stars in the sky, your lights in the darkness, for the beauty of the world, our haven and your gift, for the seen and unseen, for the web that connects us in space and across time, for your love which endures, and is mirrored in the love we experience in your church. Thank you Lord for your presence in all the seasons of life and granting us the stewardship to care for all things as you have cared for us.

There are times when life is filled with despair and doubt, when we struggle against adversity and adversaries, when we long to shelter and for fellowship, we pray, knowing that when things are most difficult, you, O God are strongly present, and that when we struggle in your name we do not work in vain. Affirm our trust in you, Lord. May we work on behalf of your people, for family, for the dispossessed, for the lost and forsaken that they will receive your hope and encouragement, and the assurance that in your time all will be well. Deepen our faith. Help us to pray in full belief that you can do miracles. Help us to live, trusting that you are with us each step of the way. We know our faith will shake and falter with doubt, but continue to strengthen us and let us see every moment that you are ever faithful.

We celebrate the many blessings we see around us and the commitments of parents like Chris and Leslie Chin who brought their baby, Zoe Isabel to be dedicated to the Lord. Equip these parents to raise up this child to know the Lord. And call every one of us to provide the nurturing and loving surroundings so that Zoe and all of our children will be able to sense the presence of your loving Spirit.

We give you praise, Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer. In the name of Christ, our Redeemer who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”

Benediction

Stand firm in the faith as we have received it!

As you doubt, do not falter.

It is the end of the beginning.

Carry your cross out into the world a little longer.

Let the light of Christ shine in the darkness.

Amen.
