What will we sacrifice in the name of one who risked everything for love? For what cause were we born, and how deeply are our lives invested in the truth of the gospel? We give, not to prove our hope, but to express our thanks.
Thank you, God, for living among us. We long for the reign of love among us when all will act for the common good and none will be hungry or afraid. We are not content to dream of such a day, but intend to work for its realization. Thus we bring our offerings and ourselves to rededicate what is already yours to the realization of your will. We are at your mercy, and we serve in your name. Amen.
Benediction
Good Friday is here, and Easter is not yet.
Still, the promise is before us to seek Easter power.
Jesus suffered and died for our healing.
The faithfulness of Christ offers us wholeness.
Let us hold fast to our hopes, without wavering.
Let us provoke one another to love and do good deeds.
Go with the promise that while it is still Good Friday, Easter is coming!
