Prayer of God’s People

Holy God, today your glory and power is made known in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are Easter people because Christ is risen. He is alive! And, where you live, life and light, freedom and salvation, hope and reconciliation break out. You penetrate our lives. You propel us to action. You invigorate our love. All praise and honor and glory be yours as we manifest the risen Christ in our worship and prayer and in our lives today.

While the world is made new again, we still find ourselves facing the challenges of an old world that is fallen with pain and suffering, with troubles and concerns, with death and dying. Guide us through these remnants of this world so that we may believe and trust in your promise of everlasting life in heaven. Be with Jane Young as she completes her life on earth and waiting to enter into your kingdom. Bless her family as they celebrate and cherish these last moments with their loved one. We lift up in prayer for…

Forgive us, O God when we have doubted the fact that Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died. For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a human being; for as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ. On this happy day of Easter, we pray that we all belong to Christ and when the end comes, we will enter into his Kingdom when every ruler has been destroyed, along with every authority and power and the last enemy to be destroyed is death itself.

Jesus is risen! We pray that Christ is our center of our hope, the ground of our being, the truth of our gospel, and the seed of our salvation. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Risen Lord, we pray, “Our Father…”
