Prayer of God’s People

Holy God, if you hadn’t given us the Spirit; how would we know Jesus as Lord and Savior? If you hadn’t given us the Spirit, how would we understand what is true to proclaim your message? Let your Holy Spirit descend upon us, gathered here, as it fell upon those gathered on that first Pentecost. Equip us with your Spirit’s power and blessing, that we may offer you a pleasing worship today. Teach us to comprehend your living word for us today and enable us to witness in our living your wondrous deeds for the world to see.

We pray for the beginning of Day Camp tomorrow that will go on for 6 weeks. Be with the children who will learn about Jesus and the world around them. Empower the counselors, CITs, staff, and directors to lead with humility and dedication to the mission of Day Camp and for the safety of the campers.

We pray for…

Jesus, at this time of prayer, we want to live like you but we cannot do that on our own. We need your mercy and grace day after day. We confess our weakness; we continually give in to temptation. But rather than throw up our hands in failure, we choose to admit our constant need for you. Demonstrate your power through our weakness. You have defeated our sin by your death on the cross. Let us live in the truth of who we are in you, not who we were before. Make us holy; make us like you, who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”

Benediction

Truly, there are no spare parts in the Body of Christ.

Now may the blessing of God the merciful one;

Jesus, the saving one;

And the Holy Spirit, the empowering one,

Is upon us, that we may faithfully fulfill Christ’s command. Amen.
