Prayer of God’s People

God of old who made all things, living Spirit who makes all things new, present Redeemer, heir of all things, we praise you. We are once more gathered together in your presence, through your will, as your partners in the great work of redemption. Lord, in our time in worship, illuminate our understanding, so that old words shine with new insights and new songs reveal old truths.

We pray for those in our circles of friends and loved ones who are in need of prayers. We pray and petition you, Lord to watch over Walter Tom and Tom Wong who need your mighty healing powers and the merciful grace to trust their lives in your hands. For all who are ignored and overlooked, not only far away but right beneath our gaze, we pray for our compassion to be shared with them. Care for and lift up the downtrodden, and inspire us to get right in there and change the world.

What a blessing to know and to be members of this vital and continuing witness of the First Chinese Baptist Church. We are indebted and encouraged by the faithfulness of its members, the sacrifices of their resources, and the obedience revealed in their daily lives that this church serves as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Lead us to be a part of this Body of Christ by the way we support her ministries both in prayers and in our giving. Teach us to extend our hands out in Christian fellowship to all who come through the doors of our church.

Thank you, O God for Jesus Christ who died on the Cross for us so that we may receive everlasting life and it is in his name that we pray together, “Our Father…”

Benediction

With God’s law written on our hearts,

Let us proclaim to all

We are God’s people,

From the least to the greatest,

Forgiven and restored!

Amen.
