Prayer of God’s People

Gracious God, we come to you in prayer today to seek your direction and leading in life. While there are many ways to spend each day, we have come with an open heart to hear your words and to integrate our lives with your will and plans for us. In these brief moments of worship, we pray that you may speak to us and we would listen, that you would guide our steps and we would place our feet into your footprints, that you might show us how to love our neighbors and we might love them as much as you love them. O God, make us your loving and faithful people who become your servants of love and mercy in this difficult and hardened world.

As our church prepares for yet another new year of active and faithful discipleship, grant us the sacrifice to pledge for the life-changing and transforming ministry of our church, lead us to commit our time and talents to serve on the many positions of service in our church, and show us that unless we become the hands and feet of Christ Jesus, his love won’t be known by those who so desperately need your grace and care.

We pray for those who are in need of your mercy. Be with Tom Wong who has pneumonia that he will feel better soon and become stronger and active again. We celebrate the love that Cheryl Ng demonstrated for all of us in the giving of a kidney to her father, Fred Hee. We continue to pray that they will continue to make progress in their recovery. We thank you, Lord for Anna Lee feeling better after experiencing an infection and generally ill-health and to Bill Chin who is now at home recovering from his recent procedures.

Listening God, hear the prayers of your people. No sparrow falls, no child is uncounted, no life is unimportant. You have blessed us with sisters and brothers of faith, who can listen with us, who will share our burdens, who proclaim our hope in you. Now and always, guide us through your peace in lives of service and trust. Thank you in the name of Jesus Christ who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”

Benediction

We give thanks to God for the work of faith, the labor of love, and the steadfastness of hope.

Let us be thankful for the grace of Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. Amen.
