Prayer of God’s People
Dear God, we are thankful for the opportunities to serve you like Tiff Lee did in China this past summer. When you call us to leave our comfort zones and to trust you by placing our lives in your hands, you are able to use us for your glory and kingdom work. We pray that you will continue calling us to service and ministry. We pray for the seminarians who are seeking financial assistance so that they would be able to take theological classes and to prepare themselves to serve in your name. Instill in us the commitment to give and support those called by you.
Lord, as you created us to have be in community with you, you also created us to be in loving community with each other. Thank you for the loving families that we have and the spiritual family that we have through this church. And when there are members of our household who are in need of prayer, we lift them up so that our prayers joined in unison would encourage those who are in need and to help each other to believe and trust in your promise. Be with George Chen as he continues to have strong health as he undergoes cancer treatments. Grant him the positive spirit to have you work a miracle through him. We are thankful that Carla Wysling has had successful surgery and we pray for a quick recovery. And with the news of our friend Herman Wan’s mother, Siu Wan returning to you, we pray for this family at this time of grief and look forward to the celebration of her life. Be with…
Thank you, O God for giving us the many seasons of life and the blessings that you have bestowed onto the Emmanuel Family Group and their 52 years of faithful service. As we celebrate their anniversary today and the long and devoted lives of James and Marie Chuck that you, Lord is pleased with the dedicated disciples that all of them are. Continue to bless them and grant them long and productive lives for years to come.
And we would be remiss if we didn’t pray for peace in the world. We pray for the proper role that America has in the world to ensure that all people have opportunities to work, to have a family, to see ourselves grow old and watch our children and grandchildren grow up. While the threat of war seems imminent, we pray for as much mercy and grace that we can offer we would.
Speak to us, O Lord so that we make speak a word of peace and justice. Reveal to us the unity of the Spirit so that of our differing opinions and difference would never take away the love you have for us in Christ Jesus who taught us to pray together, “Our Father…”
Benediction
We do not live to ourselves, and we do not die to ourselves.
If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord.
Trust in God to settle our differences and to be our final Judge.
Let us go in peace in Christ’s name.
Amen.
