Prayer of God’s People
As you dwell in our midst, dear God, guide our speech, our music, and our silences. Guide our rustling, our cries aloud, and our groans. Guide all our actions as a people, planned and spontaneous. As the root of our being that we draw nourishment and strength everyday, we pray to give you honor and glory today.
You know our hearts and the troubles that we have. Whenever a loved one departs from us and especially when it’s so unexpected, we are shocked and dismayed. We lift up this morning Drs. Paul and Agnes Martin as they grieve and strive to find strength in you, O God. Grant them your tender mercies and the comfort of knowing that their son is now with you in Paradise. We pray for those who are in our circles of life that need healing and restoration that can only come from you.
Thank you, Lord for the life and vitality of this church to continue to proclaim the love of Christ and the Good News of saving grace in the world. We pray for Youth Camp when over 80 plus youth are coming which makes this one of the largest camps in recent years. Reveal to them the significance of doing missions and the power of prayer in their lives. And according to your time, dear Lord, help them to trust in you to be their personal Lord and Savior.
Dwell in our hearts. May we be rooted and grounded in your love. We cannot comprehend the breadth and length and height and depth of your eternal glory but we know that you call each and everyone of us by name. We lift up our thanksgiving, our joyful gratitude as we pray as our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to say, “Our Father…”
Benediction
Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
