Call to Worship
We are eyewitnesses to God’s majesty.
We have sensed God’s presence in the stories of Jesus.
Look up, and do not be afraid.
Jesus, whom you seek, is transfigured before you.
Prayer Concerns
Helen Chan, suffered a stroke on Tuesday night, went into a coma, had surgery on Wednesday, and continue to be in a coma.
Theodore Chan, Gordon and Wes Chan’s father, is on a ventilator recovering from pneumonia, 91 years old.
Lujaun Norris, Librarian at Alamo School, suffering from cancer.
Jimmy Lee, Nelson Wong’s friend also suffering from lung cancer.
Prayer Celebrations
Virginia Toy, woke up from her encephalitis, eating on her own, Jane Lee Quan sees this as a miracle!
Prayer of God’s People
Precious Lord, as we look around from wherever we might be, we are amazed over your glory and majesty. Everywhere we look, you have created beauty for us to enjoy. We know that your love and care are always present with us even when we may have forgotten that you have made us all. Dear God, continue to make your will understandable to us today.
We come today with heavy and worried hearts. We are saddened and concerned for many of our loved ones who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses. Many times, we find ourselves asking “Why?” only to be reminded that even in the midst of confusion and sadness, you are there to hold us up and comfort us in ways that we can’t do for ourselves. We are praying as hard as we can today, dear God for our friend, Helen Chan. Through you healing powers, you can work miracles to happen. We pray for Theodore Chan as he is also facing a serious life-threatening situation. Shower him with your grace and care. May Helen’s family and Theodore Chan’s family encircle their loved ones at this time and receive the blessings of your peace and love.
We continue to also pray for Lujuan Norris and Jimmy Lee for their recovery from cancer. Give them hope so that both through medical science and spiritual healing, these your children will have wholeness. May we not be disheartened or discouraged when we see so much pain in our church family because we know and believe that you are the Father God who tenderly and lovingly watch over us with love. If it is your will, restore them to a fullness of health. O God, you are the miracle-worker when we see the health of Virginia Toy returning! And we celebrate with Jane Lee Quon when she is once again able to begin seeing her daughter come back.
In our busy lives, we can begin to forget the value and importance of maintaining loving relationships with our spouses, special friends and children. At times, we might doubt our own self-worth and value. Help us to renew our commitments to our loved ones, especially during this Valentine’s Day. May the love that we have received from you in Jesus Christ be an example of the love that we extend to one another.
Loving God, your steadfast love never ceases, your mercies never come to an end. There will be new mornings and new evenings for great is your faithfulness in all the world. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior who taught us to pray together, Our Father…
