I. The Inward Disciplines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Meditation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To hear God\u2019s voice and obey his word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Prayer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To commune with God to be changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Fasting<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To abstain from food for spiritual purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Study<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be transformed through the renewal of the mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

II. The Outward Disciplines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Simplicity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To seek the Kingdom of God first leads to an inward reality that results in an outward lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Solitude<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To have a state of mind and heart that is inner fulfillment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Submission<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To deny oneself by giving way to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Service<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To act like a servant brings humility to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

III. The Corporate Disciplines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Confession<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To have mutual confession releases the power to heal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Worship<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To respond in our human ways to God\u2019s love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11. Guidance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To value the instruction that comes from a group of faithful people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12. Celebration<\/p>\n\n\n\n
