This simple ceremony is an outward token of a sacred and inward union of hearts, a union created by loving purpose and kept by abiding will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jennifer and Ricky, we have assembled here with you to help you give added life to this marriage that you have chosen. All the planning has come together and if it wasn\u2019t for you, these hundreds of guests would not be here today. It is because of you, the Prince and Princess for the day that we have all come to the royal ball! Jennifer, this is even better than the time when Ricky proposed to you at Cinderella\u2019s Castle in Disneyland just about one year ago!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In the Genesis passage that was read, it said, \u201ca man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh.\u201d It\u2019s remarkable to think that when the first man, Adam had God, it was not enough to stop him from being lonely. And after God had created all of the animals in the sea and on the land and birds in the air, the man was still lonely. God wants us to not be lonely in life so he made the woman to be a companion to the man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The two of you have been created by God to be companions and not be lonely. You will be holding hands as you share your vows and exchange your rings. You will be in each other\u2019s arms as you embrace and kiss when I declare you married. You will kiss and hold onto each other when we clink our glasses. And in those loneliest days of life that you will also have, we pray that you will cling to each other as God meant it to be. One of the loveliest things that I notice about you is that you always order two separate meals, eat half of it and give the other half to the other. You will never be lonely when you eat together that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You notice that God was not able to easily and quickly fill Adam\u2019s need. This will be true for you sometimes. Although you will do your best to meet each other\u2019s needs, you sometimes will fail. When that happens, take a clue from God. God did not go away or pout. God was patient with Adam as you can be patient with each other. When Jennifer has to work late, Ricky, you will need to patiently keep dinner warm for her. When Ricky is busy working with the lion club, Jennifer, you will need to also share his excitement for this beautiful and powerful Chinese art form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It won\u2019t always be easy but such times call for greater love and creativity than ever before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I have not met a couple as more athletic than the two of you. Whether Jennifer is playing volleyball or Ricky is kickboxing in the ring, it takes dedication and hard work to succeed in sport endeavors. It takes demanding attention to keep a marriage going like the time when Jennifer hoola hooped for hours to win an X-Box for Ricky. Being loving companions in marriage will also require this same kind of dedication and hard work. As you have excelled in your sports, you will succeed in your marriage when you won\u2019t give up when the game is down to the last point or when you still have enough strength to make just one more kick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The Lord God said, \u201cIt is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner.\u201d Be traveling partners as you enjoy seeing the world together. Be dining partners as you enjoy eating Asian fusion food whether it\u2019s out at a restaurant or cooking at home. Be movie theatre partners as you stay out to watch late movies. Be fitness partners as you work out together at the gym. Be partners hand in hand as you walk your dog Penny everyday.
